MitCad is released under the MIT licence (see LICENSE). The Windows
distribution also contains the following third-party components.

Qt 6 (Qt6*.dll, plugins in bin)
Licence: GNU LGPL version 3 (https://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl-3.0.html).
MitCad links Qt dynamically; the Qt libraries in bin can be replaced with
other builds of the same Qt version. Qt's source code is available from
  https://download.qt.io/ and https://www.qt.io/ .

Open CASCADE Technology (TK*.dll in bin)
Licence: GNU LGPL version 2.1 with the Open CASCADE exception. Linked
dynamically; source code at https://dev.opencascade.org/ . Version 8.0.1
with changes of MitCad's that speed up booleans, the face merge after
them and the shape checker on faces with many edges, that let fillets run
over faces narrower than they are, that fix other failures and crashes of
the fillet, and that make an allocation that fails throw instead of
crashing; the patches are in MitCad's source code
  (third_party/vcpkg-ports/opencascade).

libheif 1.23.5 and libde265 1.1.3 (heif.dll and libde265.dll in bin), which
decode the HEIF/HEIC images of image references
Licence: GNU LGPL version 3 or later; the texts, with the GNU GPL the
LGPL builds on, are in licenses\vcpkg\libheif\copyright and
licenses\vcpkg\libde265\copyright (libde265's also gives the licence of
its Windows condition variables, win32cond.c). Linked dynamically
(mitcad.exe links heif.dll, which links libde265.dll); both can be
replaced with interface-compatible builds. Decoding only: no encoder is
  built. Source code: https://github.com/strukturag/libheif/releases/tag/v1.23.5
  and https://github.com/strukturag/libde265/releases/tag/v1.1.3, built
unchanged but for the build patches of vcpkg's ports libheif and
  libde265 at vcpkg.json's builtin-baseline,
  https://github.com/microsoft/vcpkg/tree/3aea538b2bb21a586502c67b00eb474fdd2e3098/ports .

Other libraries from vcpkg (for example FreeType, libpng, zlib, bzip2,
Brotli)
Their licence texts are in licenses\vcpkg\<library>\copyright.

The renderer (mitcad-render.exe)
  Cycles (https://projects.blender.org/blender/cycles), linked statically
into mitcad-render.exe: Apache License 2.0, with the code it bundles
under Apache-2.0, BSD and MIT licences; see licenses\cycles (with
Cycles' CUDA device also cuew, Blender Foundation, Apache License 2.0
with a stricter trademark clause: cuew-license.txt; it loads the
system's NVIDIA driver at run time, nothing of NVIDIA's is shipped; the
GPU kernels in bin\cycles\lib are Cycles' code compiled for the GPU).
Open Image Denoise (OpenImageDenoise*.dll): Apache License 2.0; see
  licenses\openimagedenoise. Its CUDA device
(OpenImageDenoise_device_cuda.dll) also contains code of CUTLASS
(BSD-3-Clause, in third-party-programs.txt there) and of NVIDIA's CCCL
headers (Apache License 2.0 with LLVM exception); it calls the
system's NVIDIA driver, nothing else of NVIDIA's is shipped.
Embree, oneTBB, OpenImageIO, OpenColorIO, OpenEXR and the other
libraries of the renderer come from vcpkg (above).

Droid Sans (bundled font for sketch text)
  Apache License 2.0; see licenses\droid-sans\LICENSE.txt.

the ISO 3098 type B style technical lettering font of Zefram Cochrane and its
contributors (https://github.com/hikikomori82), the annotations' lettering, a file of
its own (bin\fonts\lettering.ttf) loaded at run time, not linked into any
program
  Offered under GPL-3.0, GPL-2.0 or LGPL-3.0, each with a font exception;
used under GNU LGPL version 3 with the font exception, Copyright 2015-2023
Zefram Cochrane; see licenses\iso-lettering\LICENSE.txt (its name and
source). Unmodified; replacing the file replaces the lettering.

page that Export > Web page and the project's web viewer write
MIT licence, Copyright 2010-2024 three.js authors; see
licenses\three\LICENSE. The pages carry the licence text with it.

the material-properties dataset (https://github.com/KittyCAD/material-properties,
commit 61088092), the bundled material dataset, compiled into the model as data
Apache License 2.0, the material-properties contributors; see
licenses\material-properties\LICENSE and NOTICE (the attribution and how
the data was converted). The values are typical values.

format's upgrade steps, adapted for the .solidcraft import, inside
mitcad.exe
MIT or Apache-2.0, used under MIT, Copyright (c) 2026 SolidCraft

  contributors; see licenses\qtkeychain\COPYING.

Visual C++ runtime (vcruntime*.dll, msvcp*.dll)
Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable, redistributed under the terms of
  the Visual Studio licence.

Rust libraries compiled into mitcad.exe and mitcad-cli.exe
Permissive licences (MIT, Apache-2.0, BSD and similar), checked by
cargo-deny against core/deny.toml. Among them the TLS of live updates
(connections to an MQTT broker): rustls (Apache-2.0, ISC or MIT),
rustls-webpki and untrusted (ISC, Copyright 2015 Brian Smith), and ring
(ISC, Copyright 2015-2025 Brian Smith, with code from BoringSSL under
the Apache License 2.0 and the ISC licence, and from fiat-crypto under
the MIT licence). Sketch text from font files: harfrust (MIT), skrifa,
  read-fonts and font-types (MIT or Apache-2.0), unicode-bidi (MIT or
Apache-2.0), wuff (MIT) with brotli-decompressor (BSD-3-Clause or MIT)

HTTP transport (MIT or Apache-2.0) with reqwest, hyper, h2, tokio and
their helpers (MIT or Apache-2.0), rustls-platform-verifier (MIT or
Apache-2.0, the system's root certificates) and the ICU 4X crates of
url's idna (Unicode-3.0); TLS by the rustls and ring above.
